Overview
Kiln is a free, local-first workbench for building AI products, combining a desktop app with an MIT-licensed Python library. It brings evals, automatic prompt optimization, RAG, fine-tuning, synthetic data generation, dataset management, and multi-agent workflows into one loop over a shared dataset. Teams can rate outputs in the GUI while engineers deploy the same tasks to production, using their own API keys or running fully offline with Ollama.
